The Devi is worshipped as the confluence of Mahasaraswathi, Mahalakshmi and Mahakali — the mother who silences the arrogance of asuras and grants the gift of speech to the mute. Adi Shankaracharya consecrated the mula sthana at Kollur, and the Machohalli temple carries that lineage forward.
The Moola Vigraha faces east, adorned each morning with fresh jasmine, sandal and kumkuma. The utsava murti is drawn in procession on Fridays and during Rathotsava.

The temple stands off Magadi Main Road at Machohalli Forest Gate — a short walk from the Bangalore Cancer Centre and Santrupti Rehabilitation Centre. A quiet green corridor at the western edge of Bengaluru, chosen for its stillness and open sky.
Dravidian, in miniature
The garbhagriha is built in cut granite in the Dravidian idiom, with a small vimana over the sanctum and a stone-paved prakara for pradakshina. A deepa stambha stands at the entrance, lit at dusk through the year.
